About Robin.
The Breakout Room.
During my career, I have delivered crisp, compelling, accurate and up to date copy for a host of clients. These have included local authorities, the private sector, travel companies, and educational publications.
Topics that I have tackled have included a history of stem cells, regeneration schemes, London’s craft brewing industries, a guide to British manners, the economy of west London, whacky festivals and the LGBTQ+ community in Eastern Europe. It is no exaggeration to say I can turn my pen to just about any topic.
I started out on my journey in public relations working for an inner London council’s media and marketing department as editor and writer for the council’s magazines. I then moved to Eastern Europe, where I lived and travelled for more than six years.
Working abroad, I had the opportunity to write for the travel industry. My clients included city newspaper ‘The Krakow Post,’ bookings website ‘StayPoland,’ ‘EasyJet’ and ‘Time Out’ city guides.
In between, I discovered, amongst many other things, ‘Zapiekanki,'(perfect for late night food junkies), how to survive a 48-hour Polish wedding and what must be one of Europe’s most bizarre pet dog festivals.
My journey took me back to London, where I led on the communications and marketing for one of the capital’s largest inward investment programmes for eight years. In this role, I was the editor and chief writer for its annual brochure and designed place promotion communication for corporate events including exhibition stands, marketing materials and social media.
I redesigned the authority’s inward investment brand, its website and successfully relaunched it. Along the way, I wrote speeches and copy for council leaders and executive directors, ran a programme of events for industry leaders, political influencers and the business community and steered the council’s corporate comms for planning and regeneration when Covid hit.
I would now love to work with you on your next creative project.
